Re-opened Burnham-On-Sea air training corps welcomes new cadets

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s air training corps has re-opened after a temporary closure caused by a shortage of leaders.

The detached flight of 290 Squadron Air Training Corps is now welcoming new cadets, aged between 13 and 18.

The group meets every Thursday evening at 7.30pm and provides a wide range of activities, varying from adventure and leadership training, to gliding.

Those interested in joining should visit the unit, located in Highbridge Road (entrance the Sea Cadet access road in Cassis Close) or call Flying Officer Chris Garrett on 07980 729980 or Jeff Jackson on 01278 781649.

The Air Training Corps is a voluntary youth organization supported by the Royal Air Force.

The Corps is not a recruiting organization for the Armed Forces but many members do go on to have careers in the Royal Air Force or other services.
