Former Burnham-On-Sea toilets could be turned into bungalows

-

This former set of public toilets in Burnham-On-Sea could soon be turned into two new bungalows if a planning application gets the go-ahead.

The new owners of the property in Hall Terrace, off Seaview Road, have requested full planning application to convert the property into two new homes.

The application is for “change of use and conversion of redundant public conveniences to two one bedroom bungalows.”

The toilets were shut in April 2007 amid vandalism and anti-social behaviour and never re-opened despite pressure from the town council and tourism bosses, who argued that more public loos are needed in Burnham. The district council controversially began inviting bids for the building in March 2008 after putting them up for sale.
