BBC celebrity Anneka Rice visits Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft station

-

TV and radio celebrity Anneka Rice made a special visit to Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft station on Saturday (March 31st).

She met volunteers from the charity and had a tour of the seafront station, which she built in just 72 hours as part of her popular Challenge Anneka TV series in 1994, as we featured here.

BARB will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with several special events, including the unveiling of a new hovercraft, and a series of open days where the public will be able to find out more about its work.

Anneka said: “It’s been marvellous to come back and meet BARB’s current crew and see how well the station has been maintained. I am full of admiration for the volunteers here.”
