Cross carried along Burnham-On-Sea seafront in Easter Day parade

-

A symbolic cross was carried along Burnham’s seafront during a procession to mark Easter Day.

Around 20 members of Burnham-On-Sea Community Church took part in the parade along The Esplanade between Morrison’s and Marine Cove.

The procession was followed by an outdoor religious service in the seafront gardens, where additional churchgoers joined in.

Pastor Steve Mason told Burnham-On-Sea.com he was pleased with how the morning had gone.

“The procession displayed a very visible message about this important day. The cross is a symbol of death but also new life and hope.”
