An excited group of 106 Guides from Berrow, Highbridge and Brent Knoll travelled to Birmingham’s LG Arena on Saturday to see some of the UK’s top music acts perform.
Olly Murs, Alexandra Burke, The Saturdays and Rizzle Kicks were among the stars singing at Girlguiding UK’s Big Gig 2012, which has been held exclusively for guiding members for the past 12 years.
The event was hosted by television presenter Helen Skelton, who was proposed for the role by a huge number of girls on Girlguiding UK’s internet forums.
The Brent Knoll Guides said they particularly enjoyed Rizzle Kicks and Connor Maynard.
Guide Leader Jane Sinnott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The girls had been looking forward to the event for some time so they were absolutely over the moon when they found out we had tickets.”
“For many of the girls it was a real adventure as this was the first time they have been to a live gig on this scale and the atmosphere was amazing.”
Lucy, 12, a Guide with Berrow Guides, added: “The Big Gig was awesome fun. I lost my voice I screamed so much!”
