Michael Eavis opens Burnham-On-Sea chocolate and cake boutique

-

A VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Glastonbury Festival boss Michael Eavis was held in Burnham on Sunday (November 2nd) to mark the opening of a new shop selling hand-made chocolates and cakes.

Dusica Roberts has opened the new DusiCake Boutique above the Crafty Teacup Cafe in Burnham’s Victoria Street.

Mr Eavis was the special guest on Sunday who performed the ribbon-cutting, watched by supporters and friends.

The new shop sells exclusive cakes and confectionery, all made to order for special celebrations and events.

The event was also a fundraiser for the newly-formed charity, ‘In Charley’s Memory’, a mental health charity, set up in memory of 18 year-old Charley Marks, who passed away in September. His sister Daisy-Mae sang at Sunday’s opening alongside local group Daft Folk.

Dusica told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a real honour to have Michael attend our opening – he is so nice and very supportive of small enterprises like us.”

“I’ve been making hand-decorated cakes for over three years and have always wanted a base so the new shop is perfect. I’m delighted to be officially open and have already had lots of positive feedback.”

The shop is open Wednesday-Saturday from 10am to 4pm. It is also holding a Wonka-style competition to find hidden golden tickets in its products.
