Part of Burnham-On-Sea’s High Street is closed to traffic this week to allow emergency underground work to go ahead after a sewer collapsed.
The southern end of the High Street, from the junction of Adam Street, has been closed since Tuesday morning.
Wessex Water said “urgent work” is underway to repair the collapsed sewer outside 4a The High Street, which may not be completed until Friday November 7th.
However, shops in that section of the High Street are open as normal and road signs have been installed to prevent any loss of trade.
