Dozens of young swimmers took part in Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy’s Summer Championships 2017 at the weekend.
The Swim Team & Swim Academy Stages 6-10 and Stages 2-5 Gala on Sunday afternoon (July 9th).
Some superb swims were achieved by over 130 talented young swimmers from the ages of 4-86.
“With over 175 races swam, officiated over and scored, huge thanks most go to our amazingly talented team of volunteers and officials whose organisation ensured a wonderful day of racing,” said the Academy’s Sara Cox Conklin.
“This was a great community event, with parents, grandparents, family and friends coming together to provide the cheers and support their swimmers and fellow competitors!”
The highlight of the day was a British Record Breaking Swim by the Academy Swim Team’s phenomenal Grenville Cole aged 86, who competed in the 50m Breastroke event in a time of 58.38 beating his previous record of 58.53! Full results
