Final rehearsals are underway for a lifeboat-themed play called ‘Out of The Mist’ set to be performed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre on Friday (November 7th).
Members of the BOSH Youth Theatre and Princess Theatre Company, assisted by RNLI supporters and local residents, will bring the lifeboat institution’s history to life.
Featuring several local ‘celebrities’ in cameo roles, including Burnham and Highbridge Mayor Martin Cox, several scenes are being specially adapted for the local version by playwright Alan Tyson.
Burnham lifeboat spokesman Mike Lang said: “The audience is being advised to prepare for a rollercoaster of emotion. This is a terrific opportunity to see an original play about the RNLI story.”
“Some of the scenes will make you laugh, and some are sad, but the situations are very real, being based on historic facts.”
“Out of the Mist is a dramatization of the history of the RNLI, using fictionalized scenes, and audio visual tools to illustrate accurate, historical events.”

The cast has been busy this week rehearsing for the performance, which will be played out on the stage at The Princess this Friday at 6pm.
Tickets are available at a cost of £10/£8 concessions/£5 child and are available from The Princess Theatre and the Burnham lifeboat shop in Pier Street, with proceeds going to the RNLI.
