Burnham-On-Sea U3A celebrated its 20th anniversary on Saturday (April 14th) with a celebratory open day in the town’s Community Centre.
Dozens of residents visited the event in Berrow Road, which included an exhibition of the group’s activities and the unveiling of a special wall hanging.
The U3A’s embroidery group had produced a colourful patchwork to mark the occasion, which was unveiled by Burnham U3A President Ken Hindle (pictured right).
Ken told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The U3A is a group that is well-embedded in the town and has grown to over 600 members during the past two decades.”
“It is a well-loved group that plays a big part of many people’s lives in Burnham. A big thank you goes to all our members and supporters who have helped the organisation to be such a success over the years and we look forward to many more happy years to come.”
Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, were among the visitors at the event, and both praised the thriving group’s members.
