Highbridge conservatories maker axes a further 17 jobs

-

A conservatory company in Highbridge has this week announced it is to shed a further 17 jobs as the recession bites.

Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported in January that David Salisbury Conservatories, which is based on the Isleport Business Park, had shed 19 jobs after suffering a drop in orders.

Now, the company has confirmed that another 17 jobs are to go – twelve of whom are on the shop floor, with five others among general site staff and administration jobs.

Founded in 1984, the company opened its purpose-built factory in 2002 as part of an investment programme in excess of £1 million that included introducing a modern joinery line.
