Snooker star’s son robbed during visit to Burnham-On-Sea

-

A former world snooker champion had an unfortunate visit to Burnham-On-Sea this week when his son became a victim of crime in the town.

Mark Williams MBE, who has been world snooker champion twice, in 2000 and 2003, stayed at a holiday park in the town.

But his son fell victim to a theft during a visit to an amusement arcade.

In a ‘tweet’ on social networking website Twitter, the star states: “In Burnham On Sea and some little basxxrd has nicked by boys wallet off a machine in the arcade.”

Mr Williams earned the nickname ‘The Welsh Potting Machine’ after being ranked the world number 1 for a total of three seasons in his career.

He has visited Somerset many times in recent years and frequently takes holidays in the area.

A Burnham police spokeswoman said it was believed the crime had not been reported to them.
