A boat and trailer were rescued after pulled to safety after getting stuck in mud on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Wednesday afternoon (July 19th).
Burnham’s jetty supervisor called out BARB Search & Rescue at 2.30pm after a 4×4 got into difficulty while attempting to launch the boat next to the town’s jetty.
“The wheels of the trailer had sunk into the mud and soft sand, and the owner had tried unsuccesfully to pull it free with his 4×4,” said a BARB spokesman.
“One of our trucks was used to winch the trailer and boat out of the sea and up the beach.”
“The owners, who are from Clevedon, were very grateful for our help and made a kind donation towards BARB’s work.”
