Burnham-On-Sea shops and businesses join summer treasure trail

-

Over 25 shops and businesses across Burnham-On-Sea are displaying cryptic clues in their windows as part of a treasure hunt contest organised by the town’s Chamber of Trade to coincide with the start of the school holidays.

Each clue features a nautical validation symbol and the public is invited to see if they can follow the trail around the town centre and be in with a chance of winning £100 cash.

The competition starts at the Treasure Chest gift shop on The Esplanade, which is the first location to head to.

Entry forms are available from here and from participating businesses, including the town’s seafront tourist information centre.

A Burnham Chamber of Trade spokesman said: “Burnham has a great range of shops and a large variety of goods on sale – and this competition encourages people into our town centre to visit them.”

“We hope the treasure hunt will attract more people into the town centre over the whole of the holidays and the winner will be announced in September.”
