A young woman was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries on Thursday morning (June 11th) after an accident with a car on the town’s seafront.
A large area of The Esplanade and the top of Cross Street was closed to traffic, as pictured here, as police investigated what had happened.
Police spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called to the scene at 11.15am after an accident involving a pedestrian and a white Mercedes.”
“A female in her 20s was taken to Weston General Hospital with head injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.”
The lady was later transferred to a specialist unit in Bristol for further treatment.
