A Burnham-On-Sea army cadet has been invested as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Somerset.
Cadet Colour Sergeant Lucia Blackmore is pictured here receiving her official certificate from Lady Gass to take on the role.
Lucia has been an army cadet in the Burnham platoon for four and a half years and has been praised for being a leading cadet.
Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association said she “is an outstanding cadet who works hard to achieve cadet qualifications whilst juggling additional responsibilities.”
“She pushes herself to achieve all she can and is undertaking a cadet leadership course and a kayaking course. She served a year as Burnham Mayor’s cadet in 2011-12 and is very active in the local community, fundraising and assisting with community projects.”
