A traditional May Day celebration which was due to take place today in Burnham’s Marine Cove gardens has been moved to a new location due to the threat of wet weather.
The May Day Celebration will take place at the Bay Centre in Cassis Close, Burnham today (Monday, 7th May) from 1-3.30pm instead.
“In addition to the crowning of a Marine Cove King and Queen, there will be entertainment from St Joseph’s School May Pole dancers, with traditional floral hoops and garlands, and a demonstration by Berrow’s Fei Lung Kwan martial arts group,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The Friends of Marine Cove stand will also be on hand to provide information about the garden and volunteering opportunities.”
“We hope lots of local people will join in by bringing along a picnic and enjoying this great British May Day tradition.”
