A man has been air-lifted to hospital this evening (Sunday) following a serious incident in Highbridge.
A young man was allegedly struck with a golf club by an attacker in Morland Road at around 6pm.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene and the man was rushed to a nearby air ambulance.
Residents told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the injured man was lying in the road near the junction with North Avenue, which has been sealed off by Police as the investigation gets underway.
A yellow Dorset and Somerset air ambulance landed in a car park at nearby King Alfred School and took off at 8.15pm with the casualty onboard.
A Morland Road resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that everyone was in “complete shock” by the nature of the incident.
