Masked men carried an overnight robbery at Highbridge’s Asda supermarket in which a large quantity of cash was stolen from the store’s tills.
Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the incident occurred at 11pm on Thursday evening.
DC Matthew Stevenson added: “Two masked men in possession of crowbars forced entry into the store and threatened staff. Cash was stolen.”
The store was open for business as usual today, however the self-service tills at the front of the store were not in service and were cordoned off with police tape, as pictured here by a shopper.
Asda issued a brief statement, with a spokesperson confirming: “We’re assisting the police with their investigation.”
