Big crowds flocked to the Oaktree Arena near Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday (May 22nd) when Sky Sports broadcast a live coverage of the speedway clash between the Somerset Rebels and the Ipswich Witches.
Viewers and spectators were treated to a closely-fought Premier League encounter, which ended with the home side winning 50 points to 40.
The visitors from Suffolk were in a sound position to at least pick up a bonus point when they led 26-22 after heat eight and 37-35 after heat 12.
But maximum 5-1 scores from the home side in heats 13, 14 and 15 turned the meeting on its head. The Rebels took their third maximum heat win on the bounce and all 3 match points.
Somerset Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock said she was delighted with how the night had gone, both for the Rebels and as a televised event.
