Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rushed to a town centre bank on Friday afternoon (July 17th) after staff reported a smell of burning.
Two fire engines were sent to Nat West Bank in Regent Street to investigate shortly after 4pm, as pictured here.
“The fire crews used a thermal imaging camera to try and found the source of a strong smell of burning but no fire was found,” fire brigade spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
He added that staff and customers were evacuated from the building as a precuation, but that no-one had been injured.
It came during a busy day for Burnham’s fire crews, who were also called out at 11.25am to an accident on the M5 near Weston where a caravan left the carriageway. There were no serious injuries.
