World record hula hooping attempt to be made on Berrow beach

-

A hula hooping world record attempt is set to be held on Berrow beach at the end of August.

The bid is set to be held on Sunday August 30th from 11am-2pm, with the record attempt itself taking place at 12 noon.

One of the event’s organisers, Dominique Spencer from Sedgemoor District Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The current record stands at 2,290 people all hooping at the same time, so we need as many people as possible to take part – bring your friends and family!”

Taking part will cost £3 per person and will include a hoop to keep. Car parking will cost £2 per car.

All proceeds from the event will go towards BIBIC for brain-injured children.

Participants will have to be able to hoop continuously for two minutes.

Practice sessions will begin at 11am on the day.

To express an interest to take part, contact Dominique on 01278 436439 or email her here.
