Police appeal after vandals attack store in Burnham town centre

Police have appealed for witnesses after a Burnham-On-Sea town centre shop was attacked by vandals in the early hours of Sunday (December 21st).

Peacocks in Burnham High Street had two of its windows smashed shortly after 2am.

“The windows were found during a police patrol of the High Street at 2.10am on Sunday and we contacted the shop to arrange boarding up,” a police spokesman confirmed.

Police asked for any witnesses to the incident to contact them by calling 101, quoting log number 133 of 21st December.

A spokeswoman at the store told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the incident had been a “pointless act of vandalism” and that nothing had been stolen.
