One of Burnham-On-Sea’s biggest, longest-running community groups is to celebrate its 25th anniversary this week a special concert on Friday (15th September).
Burnham’s University of The Third Age (U3A) is celebrating its silver anniversary throughout this year.
This Friday at 2pm, it will hold a celebration concert in The Princess Theatre when the first half of the programme will be performed by the U3A Concert Party, followed by the U3A Ukulele Group (pictured).
Both groups have entertained at various locations such as over 60s clubs, residential homes and various associations from Taunton right up to Nailsea.
“Come along and enjoy an afternoon of music, comedy and singing,” said an organiser. Tickets are priced at £5 and can be purchased from the box office on 01278 784464.
The U3A in Burnham-On-Sea has over 560 members, with 42 separate groups offering a wide range of activities from table tennis and Scrabble to walking and craft-making.
A special congratulatory message on behalf of HM The Queen, written by a Lady-In-Waiting at Sandringham, was received by the group earlier this year, as we featured here.
