Youngsters from across the Burnham-On-Sea area are this week celebrating scooping top awards at the annual Taunton Dance Festival.
The Lucy Gunter Dance Centre in Highbridge entered a large group of local students into the popular festival.
The youngsters beat off the competition from other local dance schools and did the centre proud.
All the group’s soloists who entered all either won gold medals or were placed second or third.
In the 7yrs and under ballet solo category, Riannon Love won gold, Scarlett Puddy was 2nd and Dorothy Green came 3rd.
In the 7yrs and under modern solo group, Scarlett Puddy and Riannon Love came first.
And in the 11 and 12yrs modern solo category, Yanika Johnson won a gold medal while Sasha Moores was 3rd.
There was also success in the 11 and 12 yrs ballet solo group, where Daisy Orme won a gold medal. In the 11 and 12 yrs tap solo section, Daisy Orme won gold.
The dance centre also won the 13 years and under cabaret group section with a massive 88 marks distinction, thereby scooping the gold medal.
Lucy Gunter told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am so proud and extremely pleased with our achievements at this competition. This whole year has been amazing for us!”
“So many medals and trophies have been won and there have been fantastic exam results for our students.”
