Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft station will be holding a special open day today (Saturday, June 23rd) – ten years to the day since a five year-old girl died after getting stuck in mud on Berrow beach.
Lelaina Hall tragically died in June 2002 and today’s event is being held with the full support of Caroline Hall, the mother of Lelaina, who will be in attendance during the day.
Visitors to BARB (Burnham Area Rescue Boat) will be able to find out about beach safety along Somerset’s coastline, meet the volunteers who run the rescue hovercrafts and pick up safety leaflets. The station will be open from 11am-3pm.
