Hundreds of homes and businesses in Highbridge were without power on Tuesday (September 19th) after an electricity line was accidentally cut by workmen.
Western Power Distribution spokeswoman Tracey Carr told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A total of 451 customers were without power following third-party damage to an underground cable.”
“Supplies were cut at 12.18pm and electricity was restored by 1.14pm by switching over to an alternative mains supply.”
Several shops in Highbridge town centre temporarily closed over the lunchtime period due to the power cut.
Western Power apologised for the inconvenience to customers.
