Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s branch of the Royal British Legion are set to hold an Emergency General Meeting to elect officers to serve of its new committee.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported last September that the long-running organisation had been disbanded due to a lack of volunteers after a 75 year-history. However, dozens of residents then came forward to offer their help to get the legion re-started.
The Burnham branch of the Royal British Legion will be holding its Emergency General Meeting on Sunday (18th January) to choose its new officers. The premises in Victoria Street will be open from 3pm with the main meeting and election taking place from 4pm. The meeting will only be open to members.
The Legion will be open from 10am-12 noon on Thursday (January 15th) and Friday (January 16th) for residents who wish to join the new thriving group or to sign nomination papers to stand for one of the officer’s roles.
