Fire crews called to motorway accident near Burnham-On-Sea

Three fire engines were called to an accident on the M5 motorway near Burnham-On-Sea on Friday afternoon (June 29th).

Two engines from Burnham and a rescue tender from Weston were called to the accident between junctions 22 at Burnham and 21 at Weston at about 4.20pm.

It came after reports that a person had become trapped in a vehicle as a result of a collision.

On arrival the crews found that everyone was clear of the vehicles, but one person received treatment from paramedics at the scene, while firefighters made the vehicles safe.

The incident caused delays for motorists during the busy commutor period.
