Asda gives Burnham youngsters’ rugby fundraising work a boost

-

Young rugby players from Burnham-On-Sea raised hundreds of pounds towards their club’s extension during a fundraising event in Highbridge on Saturday (August 29th).

Children from Burnham Rugby Club spent five hours earning donations by packing shopping bags at Highbridge’s Asda store.

Russell Dyson, the club’s under 9s coach, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been a busy day – we hope to have raised several hundred pounds for the club’s extension project. Thanks go to Asda for supporting us today.”

The project, which will take approximately four months to complete, includes the creation of three new changing rooms, the refurbishment of three of the four existing ones and the introduction of a separate referee’s changing room. A turf-cutting ceremony took place at the club last month.
