Mayor praises quality of artwork at Highbridge school’s exhibition

-

Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor has praised the standard of work on display at an art exhibition in the town.

Over 70 students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School displayed their artistic skills at a one-off exhibition on Wednesday (July 4th).

The school’s art department hosted the evening event in the main hall, which was visited by Mayor Ken Smout and scores of visitors.

“We celebrated the success of our students’ innovative work and achievements, ranging from painting and sculpture to film, photography and installation,” the school’s Head of Art, Louise Amato, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“This was the school’s biggest exhibition to date and the pupils received plenty of very positive feedback.”
