24 people attended a unique workshop in Burnham-On-Sea based around the hit Disney film Frozen on Sunday (January 25th).
Burnham’s Princess Street Somerset Skills & Learning Centre hosted the themed family fun workshop in conjunction with local children’s entertainers Action Pussycat.
In addition to meeting Queen Elsa and playing several themed games, the parents worked with their children to make sugarcraft Olafs, design a photo frame, decorate gingerbread Sven, make snowflakes and draw the film characters.
Organiser Ade Bowen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a magical morning and a great opportunity for the adults and children to work together and learn new skills.”
“Participants could choose which activities they wanted to try. The sugarcraft Olaf’s proved to be very popular.”
“The workshop was about creating a fun opportunity for adults and children to learn new skills and have fun together. It was part of Somerset Skills & Learning’s programme of workshops and activities in their new Learn 2015 Challenge programme.”
Clare Pyman, who attended with her son Hudson, said: “We really enjoyed learning how to use sugarcraft for the first time. It was great fun to do together.”
Lisa Boley and her daughter Harley-Louise really liked designing the themed photo frames. She said: “The tutor was very helpful. Elsa was very friendly and Harley-Louise really enjoyed meeting her.”
Leading on from this workshop, there are classes in sugarcraft, computing and drawing starting soon.
“The feedback was really positive from all those attending,” added Ade.
“Everybody went away with armfuls of the great items they had made and good memories of a fun family morning.”
