Organisers of Highbridge’s entry into the Britain In Bloom competition were celebrating over the weekend after winning an award in their first year in the contest.
As first reported last Thursday by Burnham-On-Sea.com, Burnham won a silver award in the Sargent Cup while Highbridge went one better by scooping a silver gilt award in the Ayre Cup.
Members of Highbridge’s bid gathered in the town to celebrate, as pictured above, and start planning their entry into next year’s competition.
The Bloom judges visited Highbridge in July and were impressed with the range of floral displays in the town plus the enthusiasm shown by the organisers.
Highbridge’s Friends of Apex Park group was also celebrating after receiving a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement in the Neighbourhood Awards section.
