A young member of Burnham-On-Sea’s Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy is proving a smash hit.
Tom Colls, 9, has finished third in the Taunton Mini Tennis Green Series, held over the past few months.
“Fifteen boys entered from Somerset, Devon and Avon, including some top county under 10s, so this was a very good result for Tom,” the Academy’s Sally Edwards told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“This was a series of five one-day tournaments for children 9-10 years old run over several months.”
In green ball tennis, the players use a slightly lower compression ball but use a full size court.
Tom is a member of the Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy and trains 4-5 hours each week with coaches Jamie Allen and Greg Kyd. Tom lives in Burnham and has just started at Hugh Sexey’s Middle School.
