More than £300 was raised by Highbridge’s Dreamscheme and Burnham Fire Service when both teams joined forces to hold a fundraising car wash at the town’s fire station on Saturday (September 19th).
Burnham’s firemen were helped by young people from the Dreamscheme group, washing over 100 cars during the four-hour event.
They were delighted to help raise a total of £306.13 in aid of the National Fire Fighters Charity. Station Commander Ian Hazelton thanked all the firefighters and youths of Highbridge Dreamscheme for their hard work, and also the local community for supporting the event.
Highbridge’s Dreamscheme involves young people aged 8-16 taking part in community work in return for points that can be used towards day trips and other activities. If you are interested in joining, see the official website here.
