Motorists in Burnham-On-Sea have been reassured by Sedgemoor District Council this week that its parking machines are compatible with the new one pound coin.
Several motorists got in touch with Burnham-On-Sea.com after meters in other parts of the region refused to take the new coin.
Tom Dougall, transport policy officer at Sedgemoor District Council, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “All Sedgemoor DC ticket machines were upgraded ready for the introduction of the new pound coin in March this year.”
“The old pound coins will shortly be rejected by the machines.”
