Air ambulance lands in Burnham-On-Sea B&M car park to help patient

-

An air ambulance landed in the car park of Burnham-On-Sea’s B&M supermarket on Sunday evening (October 22nd) to help a casualty nearby.

Several ambulances were initially called to nearby Pier Street where a patient was believed to be in a serious condition following a medical emergency.

The Great Western Air Ambulance was also called to help and it landed on the coach park at the back of the store, as pictured here, just before 6pm.

Specialist paramedics onboard the helicopter assisted crews from the land ambulance at the scene.

Two police cars also prevented vehicles accessing the back of the B&M supermarket to make the helicopter landing area safe and keep onlookers away.

The air ambulance took off around 40 minutes later without a patient onboard – the patient was treated by the land ambulance crews.
