The ‘grandmother’ of Highbridge’s King Alfred School is celebrating an incredible 41 years at the school.
Nadine Garbett, pictured, started working at the school in 1976 while her children were young and is still serving up drinks, fruit and cakes for students and staff over four decades later.
She has seen all of her six grandchildren go through the school, including one who is now in Year 10 and another in Year 11.
The popular lady is known to students and fellow staff members as ‘Nan’.
Head Teacher Denise Hurr told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Nadine is amazing and a massive part of our school community.”
“We thank her for all her service and smiles over the years. We are a true community school.”
King Alfred School is now being supported by The Priory Learning Trust, which helped Weston’s Priory Community School to become outstanding and one of Britain’s best schools.
