Huckyduck Carnival Club took the top spot at last night’s Burnham-On-Sea Carnival with this stunning entry.
The club’s incredible cart, called ‘The Flying Dutchman’, comprised of a complete wooden ship with pirates covered in real seaweed and seashells.
The judges awarded it the top spot for ‘best entry in the entire procession’ and both ‘best tableaux entry’ and ‘tableaux mounted open’.
Burnham-On-Sea based Hillview Carnival’s western-themed entry, ‘Yee Ha!’, came second in the ‘juvenile feature’ category behind Marina Sydenham. The Burnham cart won the awards for ‘best local entry’, ‘most outstanding local costume’ and ‘Chairman’s local choice’.
Gremlin’s cart, called ‘Run To The Hills’, also did well, winning the categories for ‘best feature entry’ and ‘best feature mounted’.
