Burnham teenagers weigh up their options after A-Levels success

-

Teenagers from Burnham-On-Sea have been considering their future career paths after receiving their A-Level results on Thursday (August 16th).

Among them is Burnham teenager Tristan Al-Shehab, right, who studied in the sixth form at Sidcot School in Winscombe.

Tristan, 18, of Marlborourgh Court in Burnham, gained four A-Levels in maths, economics, physics and further maths.

Tristan said: “I’m going to study economics at University College London and spend a year of that in North America. I am really excited about living in London and the States.”

And Ben Adams, 18, of Briar Close in Burnham, who gained two B’s in History and Business Studies and a C in Accountancy, has decided to pursue an apprenticeship in accountancy.

Ben, right, said: “I’ve been in education a long time and the rise in tuition fees is a big issue for me.”

“I thought about it, and realised I could progress up the accountancy career ladder without going to university, so with the help of Weston College I’m now looking for an apprenticeship in this field.”

“I wouldn’t rule out going to uni in the future but for now this is the best career option for me.”
