Burnham-On-Sea’s Beavers have had a busy few weeks visiting the town’s police, Coastguards and rescue hovercraft crews while working towards their safety badges.

The youngsters visited Burnham police station to learn about ‘stranger dangers’ and dropped in at the town’s Coastguard and hovercraft stations to hear about beach safety.

Leader Mandy Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Beavers have been busily working towards their Safety Badges.”

“Whilst we were at BARB and the Coastguard we were taught about how to stay safe whilst using the beach and the sea.”

“As a thank you, we have teamed together with the Kingfisher Cubs and are now raising money for BARB.”

“We were also invited to the police station where the Beavers were informed of the importance of staying bright and being seen in the dark. The Beavers were also allowed to see in a police van and had a chance to dress up in police uniforms. They also saw the prison cells and had their fingerprints taken, which was great fun.”
