Graffiti daubed on Burnham’s sea wall during the past few days is being removed by the district council this week.
Vandals spray-painted a number of images and messages over the wall on the South Esplanade, as pictured here.
While the wall itself is maintained by the Environment Agency, it is Sedgemoor District Council’s responsibility to remove graffiti.
James Presdee of Sedgemoor’s Clean Surroundings Team told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We try to remove graffiti like this as quickly as possible in public areas and the team will be dealing with this shortly.”
The district council said earlier in the year that the cost of removing graffiti and repairing vandalism in Burnham and Highbridge was almost £11,000 over just a three month period.
