Police, Coastguards, hovercraft and lifeboat crews were called out in the early hours of today (Thursday) to a person stuck on Burnham-On-Sea beach.
The woman, who was in a distressed state, had become stuck in soft sand and mud at around 3.10am near the town’s Pavilion.
Coastguard Station Officer Steve Bird told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The call originally came in from the ambulance crew to a person in difficulty on the tideline.”
“A lifeboat was launched to locate her and two of the Coastguard mud rescue team guided her to safety and to the waiting ambulance crew.”
