Burnham-On-Sea Harriers fill old running shoe boxes with Xmas gifts

-

Burnham-On-Sea Harriers running club members have filled up their empty running shoe boxes with gifts for children in the third world.

The kind-hearted members wanted to help the annual ‘Operation Christmas Child’ campaign which ensures that gifts reach some of the world’s poorest children.

The club’s Jayne Biddiscombe told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Harriers have a long history of raising money for various charities and giving their time for good causes.”

“They jumped at the chance to respond to a call to make good use of their empty running shoe boxes and filled them with gifts for a project called ‘Operation Christmas Child’, giving hope to the world’s disadvantaged children.”

The Harriers’ Christmas boxes have been shipped out from St John’s Church in Highbridge to some of the poorest areas of the world.

Burnham-On-Sea Harriers meet every Tuesday evening at 6pm for a run from the Bay Centre Car Park.
