Burnham fire crews rescue motorcyclist from water-filled ditch

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea rescued a motorcylist from a water-filled ditch following an accident on Saturday.

Crews were called to Lympsham just after 4.30pm after a moped crashed in Brean Road, leaving a man trapped in a roadside ditch.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Crews from Burnham were mobilised to a report of a moped that had crashed where the the rider had been thrown into a water-filled ditch.”

“Crews donned dry suits and used a triple extension ladder and safety lines to rescue the male and the casualty was left in the hands of the ambulance service.”
