BBC2 Gardeners’ World expert Pippa Greenwood was in Highbridge on Saturday afternoon (November 21st) to give a talk about the impact of climate change on gardening.
More than 150 enthusiasts from across the South West gathered at King Alfred School for the talk, organised by the Somerset branch of the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens.
Pippa is one of Britain’s leading plant pathologists, having run the Royal Horticultural Society’s Plant Pathology Department at Wisley for 11 years.
She has also been a regular panelist on Gardeners’ Question Time on Radio 4 since 1994, as well as regularly appearing on BBC Two’s Gardeners’ World. Pippa has written several books and also contributes to BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine. Read more about Pippa here.
Mary Sephton, Chairman for the Somerset branch of the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were honoured to welcome Pippa to our meeting here in Highbridge. She gave a wonderful talk about plants, pests and diseases.”
