A Highbridge church is holding a unique angel festival this weekend.
St John’s Church has organised the event, which includes a display of ‘scarecrow angels’ inside today (Sunday), having started on Saturday.
“Angel Fest is going to be wonderful and big – we think it may be the first to happen in the South West,” says one of the organisers, Rev Sharon Crossman.
“The scarecrow angels have been made by many different groups and individuals – one is an Angel of the North and another is riding a bike!”
Knitters from in and around the Highbridge area have also been quietly creating over 650 angels which were distributed in Highbridge on Saturday morning. These angels all have a message to bring to the finder!
On Sunday at 5pm there will be an ‘Angel Praise’ – a very informal gathering with songs, sketches and a light buffet when all are welcome.
