Burnham-On-Sea Harriers get set for town’s Half Marathon

-

Members of Burnham-On-Sea Harriers Running Club are in training for the town’s half-marathon, which is just a few weeks away.

Burnham’s annual half-marathon, sponsored by Proper Job and M5 Glass, will this year be held on Sunday 7th October at 11am. Entries are now being accepted, with fees costing £18 for UKA affiliated runners and £20 for unattached runners. Postal entries, using the form here, are accepted up until September 24th, with entries on the day costing £2 extra.

Burnham Harriers Running Club, which was formed in 1981, has over many years promoted the Half Marathon and the Brent Knoll Race, which form part of the Somerset series of races.

Among its members are three Olympic Torch bearers – Tony Perry, Jason Vickers and Arthur Gilbert. The club meets every Tuesday at 7.00pm in King Alfred Sports Centre when runners of all standards are welcome to join.
