Police have said the discovery of a man’s body in the dunes near Berrow Church is not being treated as suspicious.
Police, Coastguards and an air ambulance were called to the dunes near Berrow Church on Tuesday (September 18th) after the body of a man was discovered by walkers.
It is understood the pensioner, aged in his 80s, suffered a heart attack and had sadly died shortly before emergency services arrived on scene.
Police spokeswoman Cath Foster confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police were called at 4.20pm to a report that a body of an elderly man had been found in the sand dunes near the church.”
She added: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and the case has been passed to the coroner.”
