Tickets have gone on sale for the first production by a new youth theatre group in Burnham-On-Sea.
Members of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Youth Theatre are busily rehearsing for two performances of ‘Pinafore Pirates’, a pastiche on the work of Gilbert and Sullivan, written for children to perform and enjoy.
Shows will be held on Friday 5th October and Saturday 6th October at 7pm and tickets cost £5 for standard entry and £3 for concessions. They are available from the Princess Box Office on 01278 784464.
Jonathan Smith, the BOSH Youth Theatre Coordinator, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the group’s final preparations are going well.
“This is going to be a great night of drama and songs with some surprises along the way,” he said.
“It has been a great way for the young people to cut their teeth on performing and learning the skills of the theatre. We are being joined by local dancers from Dancefit who will be accompanying us on stage.”
Meanwhile, from 16th October the BOSH Youth Theatre will start a new course running until July 2013. Workshops and training will be offered along with opportunities to perform and gain an arts award qualification. Annual membership costs £20 and includes a BOSH hoodie.
